WP-Optimize is one of the best database optimization plugin for wordpress. And in this article I am going to help you in Wp-Optimize full settings configuration for wordpress.
I am using these 3 combinations with Siteground managed hosting account. I prefer managed hosting because with managed hosting you can get best results with your website. Siteground managed hosting have also their own cache plugin SG Optimizer which is only for siteground users.
And yes if you are a siteground user SG optimizer works best rather than other cache plugins like WP Rocket, W3 Total Cache etc.
WP-Optimize + Autoptimize + SG Optimizer + CloudFlare that’s my combination and look at the results below.
Theme is also an important factor for website performance. And I am using Themify Ultra Theme for my website.
WP Optimize Full Settings Configuration For WordPress
1. Activate & Install WP-Optimize
After installation go to settings.
Optimize Database Tables – Enable
Clean All Post Revisions – Enable
Clean all auto-post drafts – Enable
Clean all trashed posts – Enable
Remove spam and binned comments – Enable
Remove unapproved comments – Enable
Remove expired transient options – Enable if you have large number of transient options expired
Remove pingbacks – Disable
Remove trackbacks – Disable
Clean post metadata – Disable
Clean comment metadata – Disable
Clean orphaned relationship data – Disable
Before optimization make sure to back up with Updraft plugin or within your hosting. And its very important to backup before you make any changes to your website. Now click on “run all selected optimizations”.
In tables remove all the overhead options you see.
You can use these image compression settings but I leave this blank because I am using another image compression plugin(reSmush.it) which works better as compare to this.
Unused images and sizes & Lazy-load are premium options and to use this you need to pay which I don’t recommend because you can get these things for free with reSmush.it and Autoptimize.
For caching I am using SG Optimizer plugin but if you don’t have a cache plugin then Enable page caching. WP Optimize will automatically detect and configure itself optimally for your site.
I don’t recommend preload unless you know what you are doing.
From here you can prevent your pages or cookies from caching. Just enter the url you don’t want to cache.
For example – if your homepage is dynamic and you can do changes regularly then remove caching from your homepage so that you can see the changes immedietly.
Gzip compression is recommended for every website. As you can see its enabled for my site by cloudflare. If you see the option to enable or disable then enable it.
Static file headers
Its already enabled for every user.
You can schedule optimization if you don’t want to do it manually everytime.
Also you can on/off the admin bar link.
Enable or disable trackbacks & comments. (for now leave as it is)
That’s all for WP Optimize full settings configuration for WordPress and comment me if you are facing any issue.
